Aneesah is an associate at Bytelex Advocates in Uganda. She has experience across a variety of corporate and commercial matters — from business structuring, incorporation and dissolution to legal and regulatory compliance, intellectual property, insolvency and not-for-profit organisations.
Experience & work highlights
- Advised and assisted local and international clients in setting up legal entities in Uganda, including Stabledesk Limited, Quicknode Technologies Limited (Honeycoin), Sinc Today Limited and Afro Assets Management Limited.
- Handled company-secretarial matters and advised on corporate and regulatory compliance with URSB, NITA-U, the Financial Intelligence Authority and the NGO Bureau.
- Assisted and advised fintechs in obtaining Payment System/Service Provider licences from the Bank of Uganda.
- Advised local and international companies on copyright and trademark registrations, including Telvoip Telecommunications Limited and Quicknode Technologies Limited.
- Assisted indigenous and international NGOs on registration and continued compliance to operate in Uganda — including Green Africa Youth Organization, Northwind Foundation Limited and Impact One Ministries Limited.
- Part of the team that researched and developed the first carbon-financing toolkit for companies operating in East Africa, tracking emerging climate-finance regulation.
- Assisted with the dissolution of Wewire Africa Uganda Limited and Fortnite Investments Limited.
