Overview
Kabano is an associate at Bytelex Advocates, currently stationed in Rwanda. He brings a cross-border perspective to the team through his understanding of both Ugandan and Rwandan law, providing legal advice that exceeds borders and accounts for the regional legal status quo in the tech-startup space.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws from the Makerere University School of Law and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre in Uganda.

- Advised Ared Group Limited on their proposed “flip” transaction to Delaware and the resulting corporate restructure.
- Advised Kian Smith Trade & Co. on structuring their gold-backed digital-currency business for operation in Rwanda.
- Part of the legal team engaged by GIZ and the Government of Rwanda to facilitate the creation of the Tech-Enabled Innovation Policy in Rwanda.
- Formed part of the team engaged by GIZ to facilitate the creation of a Startup Act for Rwanda.
- Engaged by Integrate Health and Trust Law on a report on the compensation of community health workers.
- Advised MOBICASH Group Ltd on its joint-venture arrangement with a Rwandan investment company to commence operations in Rwanda and Nigeria.
- Engaged by Zembo Ltd to develop a standardised battery-hire contract for the first electric motorcycles in Uganda.
- Oversaw the training and development of young lawyers under the 250startup incubation programme (ICT Chamber of Rwanda with JICA), reviewing legal documents for ten startups.
- Advised The Hunger Project Uganda on the drilling and construction of 11 boreholes and a solar-powered production well in Nwoya District, including the relevant contracts.
